FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is a Greek conference aiming to promote the use of FOSS in Greece and to bring FOSS enthusiasts together. It is organized entirely by volunteers and universities and takes place in a different city each year. This year it was virtual as Greece is under lockdown, and although we’ve missed all the fun of the gathering, there were many interesting talks to watch.
XDC 2020 was virtual this year due to covid-19. Despite that, there were many interesting talks and 5 of them were given by Igalians. Like in the previous years Igalia was among the sponsors (a silver sponsor).
This year (2019) GUADEC took place in my city, Thessaloniki. Although I’ve never had any direct contributions to GNOME I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to attend the conference: the traveling time to the venue was about 15 minutes!

About 2 weeks ago, I attended SIGGRAPH 2018. I am still very excited about the whole event, and I am very thankful that Igalia (the consultancy company I work for) and specifically the Graphics Team selected me to go, despite this being my first year at the company! 😀
FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is a Greek conference aiming at free-software and open-source enthusiasts, developers, and communities. The event is solely organized and ran by volunteers (usually university students, communities, Linux User Groups) and is taking place in a different city every year. The attendance is free and everyone is welcome to make a presentation or a workshop related to free and open source projects.
