[OpenGL and Vulkan Interoperability on Linux]: The XDC 2020 presentation

XDC 2020 (co-sponsored by Igalia) was virtual this year due to covid-19. Several presentations were coming from Igalians (see my XDC post) and I’ve given a talk about OpenGL and Vulkan interoperability and our work to support EXT_external_objects and EXT_external_objects_fd on different Mesa3D drivers.

These are my slides and pages 9-12 contain short descriptions of all the Piglit EXT_external_objects use cases I plan to describe in the upcoming OpenGL and Vulkan Interoperability blog posts:

And that’s a video of the presentation:

Hopefully it was useful as an introduction to what we are working on.
I’d like to thank the Igalians that worked on the interoperability extensions:

Juan A. Suárez Romero (contributions to iris, tests)
Eduardo Lima Mitev (contributions to freedreno, test reviews)
Hyunjun Ko (contributions to freedreno, test reviews)
Eleni Maria Stea (contributions to iris, radeonsi, tests, review of i965)
Germán Poo Caamaño (helped us in the background)

as well as all the other people who helped us and are mentioned in the video and the slides.

Also a big thanks to the XDC organizers for this virtual XDC! 🙂
